Something From Nothing?

I was shopping with the wife today and we went into Coles bookstore. Nothing earth-shattering about that right?

As I’m browsing through the literature on display I came across a book claiming to be able to explain science in easy to digest bites. A sort of science for dummies, if you will.

Being curious I started browsing the volume and noticed that there was a chapter on origins. There was a section about where the energy came from to start the big bang.

I turned to that page and was instantly confronted by wishful thinking, theoretical double-talk and logical nonsense.

Apparently some scientists “think” that the energy required for the big bang came from absolute nothing. Think about that. The author is about to tell us how something came from absolute nothing.

So he says that there was this huge potential gravitational energy which has a negative value and a positive value from the matter present and somehow a quantum fluctuation took place and boom – the universe.

Really? That’s the best you can come up with? Your absolute nothing is a mathematical function? -1 + 1 = 0 is your genius idea?

Let’s look at the problem a little closer. Nothing cannot have potential. Something must exist in order for potential to exist. Negative or positive doesn’t matter. A quantum fluctuation also cannot exist without something to fluctuate.

Nothing is nothing. No matter. No universe. No gravity. No potential. Nothing.

This is just a pathetic attempt of “science” trying to explain the unexplainable. It is “science” trying to avoid the inevitable conclusion that it is faith based. The only way evolution works is if matter has always existed and science cannot come up with a logical explanation of how that could happen. It is beyond science. It is faith.

The believer in God says, “In the beginning God . . .” The believer in materialistic evolution says, “In the beginning matter . . .” Both are faith based and the modern scientist cannot accept that truth.

But truth it is.
